The Town of Huntsville is looking to hire a temporary Parks Attendant for the Fall and Winter seasons. This contract position starts in September and runs to approximately the of April 2024.

Parks Attendant
During the fall season, the Parks Attendant is will ensure the proper care of the Town of Huntsville parks system including such duties as operation of fleet vehicles-truck and trailer, grass cutting, sports field maintenance, flower bed watering and maintenance, debris pick-up and special events set up.

During the winter season, the Parks Attendant Is responsible for performing winter maintenance on roads, bridges, sidewalks, parking lots and roadsides which includes plowing, salting, and sanding. The Attendant is responsible for operating various vehicles and equipment, such as single-axle plow trucks, sidewalk plows, loaders, spreading units.

Ideally the successful candidate will have completed high school and have previous experience in horticulture and sports field maintenance experience an asset in snow removal. You must able to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends and holidays) in varying types of weather conditions. Previous heavy equipment operation experience is an asset. A valid G class driver’s license is required, with a Class DZ driver’s license being an asset.

The hourly rate for this position is $26.88 based on a 40-hour work week.
