JOB SUMMARY:
Directs the daily accounting activities and provides technical oversight of personnel
within the Finance Department. Performs technical level accounting duties in the
maintenance of the payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and utility billing
areas.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs accounts payable work including billing and vendor research, verifying
purchase orders, and issuing payment.
Provides technical oversight to the payroll function and benefits accounting. Processes payroll on an as needed basis.
Assists customers with utility billing and service issues, takes payments, prepares and verifies daily cash reports, researches billing questions, and issues shut off orders.
Monitors usage and customer accounts.
Assists in the preparation of the Town budget including forecasting payroll and utility
trends, preparing materials for use in budget planning, and proofing accounting materials and information.
Maintains fixed asset inventory and related accounting. Prepares depreciation
schedules.
Assists with annual audit including preparing and reviewing adjusting entries, providing assistance and information to external auditors, and preparation of material for audit.
Reconciles various general ledger accounts.
Acts as a liaison with departments in the resolution of financial and accounting issues
and verification of departmental data.
Assists with capital projects accounting.
Performs other duties as assigned and required.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred. Experience
considered in lieu of education.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,132.00 – $88,479.00 per year
