Total Synergy creates business and project management software for people who design and make our built environment — architects, engineers, construction designers (AEC).

We’ve been making software for our customers since 1999 — originally an on-premises application, now a pure cloud SaaS product built on Microsoft Azure cloud technologies.

THE JOB…

Reporting to the CEO, your responsibilities will include managing all finance and accounting operations, reviewing, and improving IT systems and solutions and managing our Office and Accounts Administrator. The role will provide you with a good mix of hands-on tasks and growth strategy to guide business decision making.

It’s a busy environment where no two days are the same and you will enjoy working autonomously, on your feet, and using your initiative to come up with solutions to help the wider team.

• Oversight of the end to end finance function for ANZ and international operations
• Oversight of payroll for Australian and overseas employees
• Oversight of the month end process including ensuring the completion of the General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations and production of the P&L statements, including consolidation of accounts for 5 entities
• Preparation of Monthly and Quarterly Management Accounts and Reporting Packs
• Preparation, review and monitoring of annual budgets and forecasts for business as a whole and individual depts
• Preparation, review, and report on departmental budgets and forecasts U
• Preparation and submission of payroll tax (NSW, QLD, VIC), PAYE and BAS returns
• Cashflow management and forecasting
• Maintain company asset register
• Providing financial support and assistance to the CEO and Departmental Heads
• Calculation of incentives and commissions for sales staff
• Implement strategy and direction for the function, together with the CEO
• Identify and implement systems, policies and procedures for the Finance function which will improve financial monitoring, accountability and growth
• Preparation of End of year accounts
• Liaise with external accountants in Australia and overseas for year-end accounts and tax returns
• Performing ad hoc analysis proactively or as directed, to provide performance insights that aid growth and focus on appropriate resource allocation
• Collaborate with other business units contribute to the evolution of the company

ABOUT YOU…

• You have accounting qualifications – either CA/CPA qualified
• You’re a team player and have great communication skills
• You have outstanding Excel skills and knowledge of Xero, Quickbooks or MYOB
• Excellent experience spanning at least 4 years
• Natural talent for people leadership
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on relationships
• Forward-thinking ability to work under pressure and with deadlines
• Able to resolve problems and conflicts and a professional and tactful manner
• Exceptionally high level of honesty, integrity, commitment and responsibility
• If you have previous experience of SaaS that’s a bonus
