Our opportunity

The Research & Development (R&D) department, specialises in the development of software applications for Toshiba products globally. The team is dedicated to building software for use in our document imaging products. Our engineers are working as part of a global team to develop the next generation of document imaging products for Toshiba.

Our QA Team is responsible in the quality assurance and testing of R&D software products. We are looking to employ a Software Test Engineer to carry out related tests, triage bugs, log bugs, and prepare reports as well as preparing Work Instructions and Procedures as necessary. The successful candidate will also use existing software tools and identify methods/tools for enhancing test methods for efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities Include

• Perform non-planned and planned QA tests for Driver products, RIP products and any MFP related products.
• Use Selenium framework and/or develop test scripts and automate test cases using scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.
• Identify defects. Utilise Defect Tracking system in logging, triaging, and closing of bugs.
• Prepare and publish accurate test reports.
• Work with Test Team Leader in providing support to development team and customers in timely completion of QA/Test schedules.
• Help in developing Test strategies, procedures and WIs from Product Specifications and related documentation.
• Comply with ISO9001 &/or CMM at a level to be determined.
• Utilise, maintain and implement appropriate test automation tools working with other team members.
• Look for ways to improve existing testing facilities (software, hardware (including boards)).

Our requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail, time management and communication skills as well as a commitment to teamwork and customer service.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum TAFE qualified Computer/IT engineer or University qualified B Comp Science
• 1-3 Years Software Testing and Development
• Exposure to Selenium framework and scripting languages such as Python and use of Linux, Citrix, MAC and WINDOWS operating system and MFPs
• Preferably with experience in software scripting and testing.
• Knowledge on computer networking, different network protocols used, and security systems
