Toro Aluminum Group of Companies Hiring for Customer Service Representative – Manufacturing at Vaughan, ON Full Time

Established in 1979, Toro Aluminum has become a leader in the development and manufacturing of window walls and doors for high-rise condominiums, office buildings and hotels, across Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Commdoor Aluminum, a company within the Toro Aluminum group, is a supplier of Commercial Doors, Frames and stock aluminum extrusions to the construction industry.

The Customer Service Representative reports directly to the Customer Service Manager of Commdoor Aluminum.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service

• Acknowledge and respond to all customer inquiries within 1 business day.
• Investigate / troubleshoot customer service issues as required
• Provide customer with technical information and support regarding all Commdoor Aluminum products
• Quote products to customers as required
• Respond to customer scheduling questions and liaise with internal departments to monitor order status
• Update customer about status and confirm delivery dates of their orders. Communicate to customer any changes or delays to ship dates
• Work closely with shop / fabrication to provide technical assistance and recommendations for custom orders
• Work with Drafting to provide customer shop drawings for approval
• Co-ordinate with other departments (Purchasing & Production) to review / clarify status of orders
• Coordinate with the Purchasing department regarding custom hardware purchases
• Review / correct customer hardware schedules for custom door / custom hardware fabrication orders
• Track stale orders and back orders in the system and follow up with customers and if necessary remove / delete from the system
• Work with Customer Service Manager and other departments to establish root causes for order errors and develop permanent countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence

• Order Entry

• Screen all in-coming orders and ensure they have correct information for fabrication
• Follow standard departmental process to enter fabricated and stock length purchase orders, custom door frames, vents, walk in orders and phone orders
• Review fabrication drawings and cutting list (from Drafting) and all necessary paperwork and provide to shop for fabrication.
• Contact customer to resolve order issues

• Estimating

• Assist the estimator in providing quotations for customers if required.

• Assist with inventory
• Attend meetings where required
• Provide back-up to the Customer Service Manager as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 3-5 years Customer Service and Order Management experience in a Manufacturing organization
• 3-5 years of experience in the aluminum doors and windows industry.
• Ability to understand technical information.
• Ability to read/interpret mechanical drawings
• Excellent organization, time management, problem solving and communication skills.
• Team player with a “can do” attitude.
• Professional demeanor and appropriate business etiquette.
• Strong computer knowledge in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc)
