Finance Assistant (part-time)

Salary : £18,000 p.a (pro-rata)

Hours : 20 Hours over 3 days (Tues, Thurs and Friday)

Status: Permanent

Location: Trust’s Occombe Head Office, Paignton, Devon.

Torbay Coast & Countryside Trust (TCCT), is an independent charity dedicated to looking after the most important wildlife and heritage sites across the English Riviera in Torbay, South Devon. 

The Trust manages 1750 acres of country parks, nature reserves, woodland, farmland and coastline in Torbay, including Berry Head National Nature Reserve, Cockington Country Park and Occombe Farm, as well as much of the English Riviera Geopark. 

 As one of the Trust’s main sites, Occombe Farm is a 150 acre organic farm in Paignton and is where the Trust HQ is located.  

 
We are looking to appoint an experienced Finance Assistant who will assist in the day to day finance tasks. 

Reports to Group Finance Controller and/or Trust Finance Officer as appropriate

As a Finance Assistant you will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities – Finance

• Input P/L invoices to Sage 50 accounting system

• Input payments to sage print Remittances

• New account set-up for suppliers when required

• Weekly Payments batches to Suppliers by BACS

• Petty Cash, weekly monitoring and post to Sage

• Carry out Ad-hoc troubleshooting reports to management on specific accounts when needed.

• Monitoring of Utilities accounts and related meter readings when required

• Raise Sales invoices from time to time

• Sales invoices/recharging for both Trust and Enterprises

• Input Sales Data

• Sales Ledger – Troubleshooting

• Membership – Direct Debit set up

 What are we looking for?  

• Proven book-keeping abilities in a similar role.

Preferable:

• An AAT qualification such as Level 3 Certificate in Bookkeeping or Level 3 Advanced Diploma in accounting, or equivalent.

• Experience of Sage and Xero accounting systems

• Basic Microsoft Excel and Word skills

• Excellent attention to detail whilst maintaining accuracy

• Fantastic organisational skills
