Full Job Description

Overview:

Talented and experienced, hands-on Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers delivering next generation of technology products for Topgolf. They will work closely with product owner, product and program managers to lead the software engineering function and ensure successful execution of the product roadmap.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the software engineering team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to team members
  • Develop and maintain software engineering standards and procedures, ensuring that they are adhered to by all team members
  • Manage the recruitment, training, and development of software engineering staff
  • Ensure that all software developed by the software engineering team meets the required security, scalability, and performance standards
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the software engineering function, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Design and write code across the full technology stack
  • Partner with product managers and program managers to own and drive the product roadmap, using the Agile process to run efficient sprints and releases

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, preferred
  • 7+ years Software Engineering
  • 3+ years Technical leadership role
  • 2+ years Direct management role
  • 1+ years Experience coding and architecting applications for scale
  • 3+ years Experience with both backend and front-end development
  • 1+ years Proficiency in Scala, Akka, Actors
  • 1+ years Proficiency in TypeScript Vue.js
  • Experience in full-stack software engineering, with a proven track record of managing complex software development projects
  • Experience in managing and leading teams of software engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to develop and maintain software project plans and ensure that software projects are completed on time and to the required quality standards
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and judgment
  • Highly-motivated self-starter with a passion for making high quality software
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong sense of ownership and drive
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude with ability to interact with cross-departmental groups
Travel up to 5% for team offsites.
