Tommy’s Hiring for Finance Assistant Job at London, England Full Time

This is an opportunity for a bright, proactive and detail orientated person near the beginning of their career to join a small and busy finance team which will support them through their studies. The job will give access to a wide range of transactional activities which form the basis of an accounting career.

Study support will be offered to candidates pursuing AAT.

Tommy’s is moving towards a hybrid working pattern, with a 50/50 split between office and home-working. Employees who wish to work in the office more, are welcome to do so.

Job Purpose

To take ownership of finance administration and follow existing policies and processes.

The key objectives of this role are to:

• apply the charity’s policies and procedures, ensuring administrative and process compliance,
• to adhere to deadlines,
• to ensure the accuracy of information.

Key Tasks

• Day to day administration of the purchase ledger.

• Day to day administration of the sales ledger.

• Follow processes and help ensure that they are up to date, spotting potential improvements where you can.

• Assistance in the performance of month end account reconciliations as directed, including the drafting of journals.

• Filing and administration of finance documentation.

• Dealing with queries from staff at all levels of the organisation.

• Assisting members of the public with queries, by phone and email.

• Entry of financial data into the fundraising database.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have good GCSEs (or equivalent) and be actively studying towards the AAT qualification (or equivalent).

Experience

The ideal candidate should have some experience and understanding of finance processes in areas such as purchase and sales ledger.
