TMB Hiring for Operations Manager Full Time

TMB offers products and services to entertainment production and staging professionals, as well as architectural lighting specifiers and designers worldwide. With offices in Los Angeles, London, New York, Toronto, Beijing, and Riga, TMB sells and supports a wide range of leading brands, many of which are highly technical and proprietary.

We are currently seeking an Operations Manager in our New Jersey location. Desired candidate will have experience within A/V, Entertainment, and/or Electronics industries, and 5-10+ years of Operations Management experience, managing large groups of staff.

The Operations Manager will oversee all day-to-day functions of operations ensuring that client orders are fulfilled and delivered timely and accurately. This includes monitoring orders from start to finish and identifying potential hurdles ahead of time, always looking ahead, awareness of sales and inventory, coordinating staff schedules, quality control, identifying areas of improvement, attracting talent, and working to maintain or improve quality, productivity, end efficiency.

Operations Manager works closely with Sales and Human Resources Departments.

Responsibilities include:

• Long-term planning to create initiatives that further the company’s overall goals
• Assess and analyze departmental budgets to find ways to minimize expenses and optimize profits
• Inspire and motivate employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement and incentives
• Identify potential problems and points of friction and work to find solutions
• Implement policies and strategies to improve productivity and efficiency levels and building an enjoyable company culture.
• Attract talent and set training standards
• Monitor calls and emails and respond in a timely manner
• Daily review of current and future sales orders and open work orders
• Schedule and monitor staffing levels, identifying shortages or overages
• Update timecards and approve for payroll processing
• Facilitate communication between Sales, Inventory, Receiving, Shipping, and Cable departments daily for order fulfillment, shortages, shipments, deliveries, etc.
• Ensure cycle counts are completed as scheduled, investigating any discrepancies
• Investigate and respond to solvelog submissions
• Order shop supplies, monitoring min/max levels
• Resolve shipping issues
• Maintain building security
• Update Procedures as needed
• Coordinate with HR Department on recruiting and hiring, performance issues, safety compliance, and employee development
• Monitor Tech Support queries and repairs to resolution
• Coverage for absences for all Ops Departments
• Carry out deliveries/pick-ups as needed
• Review RMAs for the month
• Ensure Forklift Certifications current
• Conduct and/or participate in regular Operations meetings, Sales meetings, Inventory meetings, etc., taking notes and actioning items
• Ensure building and vehicle maintenance such as monthly checklists, repairs, registrations, certificates, and insurances are kept compliant
• Ensure all warehouse equipment is in good condition and working order; Forklift, Payout, scales, scan guns, tools, printers, etc…
• Assist Marketing team with project management of trade shows and company other events

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• 5-10+ years of Operations Management Experience, managing large groups of staff
• Experience within A/V industry
• Strong Leadership
• Understanding of policy, planning, and strategy
• Ability to develop, implement, and review policies and procedures
• Ability to oversee budgeting, ing, planning, and auditing
• Understanding of necessary legal and regulatory documents
• Ability to address problems and opportunities for the company
• Ability to build alliances and partnerships with other organizations

Physical Requirements:

Sitting, standing, walking up to 8-10 hours per day. Heavy telephone and computer usage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 – $96,000.00 per year
