TLGO seeks candidates for the role of MicroStation/AutoCAD CAD Production. The successful candidate works well both with a team and independently, under the supervision of Senior Engineers/Designers/Project Managers.

Core capabilities – The successful candidate will have demonstrable proficiency in MicroStation (V8/V9/V10), over the full life cycle of drawing production. Proficiency with, or the willingness to also learn, AutoCAD (2019+) are also desirable. Experience in other aspects of electrical projects are an asset, as is a desire and willingness to continue to learn to design, specify, and review the construction or installation of these systems.

TLGO is a buildings Electrical Engineering/Consulting firm servicing primarily Western Canada, with specializations in Electronic Safety & Security Systems (ESS), Information Communication Technologies (ICT), and related infrastructure.

The successful candidate(s) must be motivated and disciplined to work remotely, with a high level of efficiency, attention to detail, and a commitment to achieving project deliverable deadlines.

This position is full time, but other arrangements (part time/contract) will be considered, depending on the capabilities and availability of the candidate.

Responsibilities:

MicroStation / AutoCAD CAD Production

• Competency in following defined standards (internal, and those provided by clients or for specific projects), including layers/levels, symbology, title blocks, xrefs/underlays, etc.,
• Ability to take drawings from concept / markup, through set up, development, quality control (QAQC), and through issuance,
• Work within company defined systems for managing project data – project filing, file naming,
• Working with designers, the ability to quantify, project, and understand timelines to complete tasks, and to manage multiple concurrent deliverables,
• Understanding of related technical data that will form a portion of the design input, such as manufacturer product data sheets, Architectural/Mechanical/other drawings or schedules, and similar,
• Strong communication – working with internal and external project team members to produce clear and accurate drawings the first time, and to quickly adapt and learn from mistakes.

Skill Sets required include:

• Strong English language verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience working with MicroStation across all aspects of drawing/document production (from set up through issuance) is required, with preference given to experience in buildings electrical and electronic security. Experience working with AutoCAD will also be considered.
• The willingness and ability to coordinate clearly and effectively technical details with other members of a project team – the client, consultants, suppliers / manufacturers, and contractors.
• Accurate tracking of time spent on tasks, for cost tracking and billing purposes.
• Computer skills should include design tools (Microsoft Office and similar).
