TJL Industries Inc Hiring for Production Engineer – Chemicals at Pearland, TX Full Time

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, the Production Engineer’s main tasks are to monitor, , and improve the processes in the plant. As new processes are brought into the facility, tracking and process improvement plans will be implemented by the Production Engineer.

Production Engineering Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Track production processes (cycle time, phase time, yield, etc.)
• Investigate problems, and ensure processes meet expectations
• Work with other technical and operations personnel to find ways to improve existing processes (reduce cycle time, improve yield etc.)
• Evaluate efficiency of operations practices
• Participate in and help ensure reaction area maintains compliance with plant management systems (ISO, PSM, Responsible Care etc.)
• Design responsibilities for small to medium sized equipment may be required on new processes to the plant.
• Exhibits and practices the Third Coast Way fundamental behaviors

Knowledge and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• Proficient with Heat and Mass Transfer Calculations.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 3-5 years in process support
• Experience in a range of chemical processes

• Proficient in working with Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook.

• Strong leadership with demonstrated skills and ability to coach and develop others.
• Knowledge of PSM and safety procedures for handling hazardous chemicals.

Physical Requirements

• 60% Office Setting, including sitting, some bending, walking and viewing.
• 40% Plant setting, including, bending, walking, lifting/moving objects less than 25 lbs.
