Job Title: Senior Cloud Engineer (12+ Years Experience)
Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid)
Preferred: Local candidates to Ohio or nearby states
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with 12+ years of overall IT experience and strong expertise in multi-cloud environments (Azure & AWS). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and AWS platforms (VMs, VPC/VNet, Storage, Load Balancers, Databases).
- Administer and optimize cloud services such as EC2, S3, EBS, RDS, Azure Virtual Machines, Blob Storage, and DNS.
- Implement robust identity and access management solutions using Azure AD, IAM, RBAC, MFA, and SSO.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, ARM/Bicep templates, and CloudFormation.
- Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, AWS CLI, and Ansible.
- Configure and manage monitoring/logging solutions including Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
- Ensure cloud security best practices using tools such as Azure Policy, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud, Security Groups, NACLs, and KMS.
- Manage and configure networking components including VPCs, VNets, Subnets, VPN, ExpressRoute, and Direct Connect.
- Work with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Lead cloud migration initiatives and support modernization efforts.
- Create and maintain documentation, SOPs, and technical knowledge base.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 12+ years of IT experience with strong hands-on expertise in Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
- Proven experience in cloud migration projects and hybrid cloud environments.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
- Experience with cloud monitoring and alerting tools (Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, CloudTrail).
- Solid understanding of cloud security frameworks, identity management, and encryption.
- Deep knowledge of cloud networking concepts (VPC/VNet, peering, VPN, Direct Connect).
- Experience working with Linux, Windows, and virtualized environments (VMware).
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes is highly preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Azure or AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.).
- Experience in enterprise-scale cloud environments.
- Prior experience in hybrid cloud deployments.
