Accounting Manager

Become a TITAN! Seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to augment an already strong veteran team. TITAN’s Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions of the company and will manage: Payroll Administration, Accounts Payable, and Project Administration. To properly lead the team, this managerial position requires candidates be physically present with some flexibility for remote work.

TITAN is a well-established heavy construction company servicing the greater Puget Sound area. We have a great system in place; current manager is moving to a different state for family reasons and is committed to a positive transition for this role. The ideal Accounting Manager candidate will be someone with sincere integrity, team-leadership qualities, proficiency, knowledge, and ambition to facilitate internal or client-required administrative processes.

Roles and Responsibilities: (Include, but not limited to)

Project Specific – Either ‘leading the team’ or literally assisting in the action:

• Set up new jobs in ComputerEase for AP, AR, Payroll, etc.
• Manage the admin team’s filing and processing associated with both public and private projects.
• Enter/process billings, payments & change orders into ComputerEase for all projects.
• Maintain legal files for all projects – executed contract, bonds, ins, change orders, prelien notices, billings, payments and misc. notices/legal docs

Accounting – Either ‘leading the team’ or literally assisting in the action:

• Review and upload weekly payroll and accounts payable invoicing
• Process monthly DOR payments and monthly union returns
• Process Quarterly Payroll Taxes (L&I, Emp Sec, IRS, PFML)
• Process monthly, quarterly, and annual equipment allocation, B&O taxes, prepaid insurance, depreciation journal entries
• Monthly reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts as well as the general ledger
• Process asset purchases/disposals, includes adding asset to insurance, journal entries, ‘Good to Go’, fuel cards, licensing, recurring payment set up for financed assets, depreciation schedule
• Process monthly long-term debt & interest expense journal entries for financed assets
• Annual fleet licensing renewal, City Business license renewal, industry specific licensing, annual WA business license renewal, contractor license renewal and federal SAM registration etc.
• Process annual 401(k) profit sharing & matching report and payments as well as review weekly payroll contributions
• Process quarterly WIP schedule for financials including quarterly indirect allocation, under/over billing, and WIP adjusting journal entries
• Prepare year-end tax/financial documentation for CPA review including W-2’s and 1099’s
• Assist with yearly insurance renewal & annual insurance audit

Ideal Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience in accounting or related field
• Direct or indirect experience with the construction industry
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Excel and Word mandatory
• Experience with ComputerEase is ideal, with a willingness to learn the core components needed to integrate with HCSS (Heavy Job & Heavy Bid), or a willingness to embrace and ambitiously learn these high-end software programs.

Compensation:

• Salary Range: $95,000 – $135,000 DOE.
• Benefits provided are: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), and Profit Sharing.
