We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, fun, qualified teacher to join our early years team and lead our pre school room. We want someone who really cares about the children and can assist each child on their learning journey by facilitating play, providing environments which engage and enabling them to set and reach their own goals. The successful candidate will work directly with children aged 2-5, leading a small team of staff, providing personal care, intimate care, 1:1, small group and full group interventions and focusing on child and staff individual learning and development, happiness and safety within the setting.
The successful candidate will be able to communicate openly and honestly with other colleagues to create and monitor ISP’s, IBP’s, analyse cohort data, staff development plans, targeted provision and observe, plan and assess child and staff learning and development.
Parent partnership is very important to the happiness and development of each child, so the ability to communicate with confidence, professionalism and with care is vital. Providing verbal and written feedback to parents and other agencies will be a large part of the role so a good standard of written and spoken English is required.
This role is within a PVI nursery setting, so knowledge of the EYFS, Birth to 5 Matters, Safeguarding, Fundamental British Values, Characteristics of Effective Teaching and Learning and the overarching principles is essential.
Safeguarding knowledge is vital, with understanding of the LSCP, LADO, Early Help, SENIT, CFC and referrals.
Working hours would be Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm, excluding bank holidays. 5 weeks holiday. Pay will be based on experience with reviews set at 3, 6 and 12 months.
The position is subject to a clear enhanced DBS check and references.
A full paediatric first aid certificate is required but can be obtained during first 3 months of employment.
Interviews take place in two parts, the first being a formal face to face interview and the second being a short practical with the children.
