Thoughtworks Hiring for Finance Controller Job at Sydney Full Time

This is a new position and is a result of the recent IPO of Thoughtworks and the rapid growth of the Australian business. This is an amazing opportunity to be part of the local Australia Finance team and an integral member of the global controllership team. The key focus areas of this role are; driving continuous success and change with the monthly financial close process, technical accounting matters, rolling out internal controls and local direct and indirect taxation.

This position will be based in Sydney ideally (however it can potentially be done remotely) and report to the Global Assistant Controller and works closely with the Australian Finance Director. The role will manage and mentor a small local team and liaise with and provide technical accounting support to the Shared Services Team in Xian China.

• Advise and lead research on complex technical accounting issues with an emphasis on revenue recognition ensuring compliance with all relevant Accounting Standards.
• Responsible for all aspects of local direct and indirect tax including annual tax returns, IDS, CBCR and global quarterly tax provision requests
• Lead the local statutory audits, including ensuring audit readiness and timely responses to audit requests and preparation of draft financial statements
• Partner with the Australian Finance Director on the management of month-end close
• Provide financial accounting input and overview for quarterly forecasting
• Own key SOX controls around financial reporting
• Collaborate with the Global Controllership team to create, implement and maintain robust internal controls, accounting principles, practices and procedures
• Review transfer pricing calculations and manage inter-company payables and receivables
