Your main responsibilities will include:

• Engaging with your training and working to apply what you learn in your day-to-day work
• Taking ownership of tasks assigned to you and completing them in line with our processes
• Building simple web pages components using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and the libraries and frameworks you are provided with
• Writing clean, testable, and well-documented back- and front-end code for simple features
• Maintaining deployment pipelines, infrastructure, and other routine maintenance tasks
• Actively participating in sprint ceremonies including daily standups and fortnightly retrospectives

Skills and experience

You will have some software development experience, or you will have recently completed a degree course in Computer Science or similar with some coding modules and projects. You will also have:

• Experience of using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build responsive websites
• Experience of writing simple back-end code
• Experience of working with databases
• An understanding of the software development lifecycle, and how your role fits into it
• A professional, completer-finisher mindset that allows you to progress work effectively
• Great attention to detail
• The ability to think analytically and understand complex problems

Progression Opportunities

As you develop in the role, you will be assigned progressively more complex work until you are self-sufficient and able to work without supervision. Over the next 1-2 years you will have the opportunity to choose the direction you would like to develop your career in – it could be as a Software Developer, or as a Tester, or as Project Manager, or something else completely. To help you get there, you will have the support of an experienced Non-Executive Director with extensive agency experience and whatever training is needed.

Working arrangements

Our teams work from the office at least 2 days a week, although you’re welcome to use the office as much as you like. This means you must live within a reasonable distance of our office in Pool, Redruth.

We’re especially keen to hear from anyone looking to return to work after parental leave or a career break. We know life doesn’t always fit neatly around 5 days a week, 9-5 so we’re open to part time or whatever other arrangements suit you.
