We are currently seeking for a diligent staff accountant to join our accounting department. The staff accountant’s responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, assisting with budget and close processes, and maintaining accounts payable documentation. You will also be assisting the accounting manager and director of finance as needed and respond to information requests by management and for auditing purposes.

The responsibilities of the Accounting & Budget Staff include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
• Preparing journals entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.
• Back-up cost accountant function.
• Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
• Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
• Responsible for the variance reporting process including the preparation and distribution of month-end reports, monitoring accuracy and completion, assisting Department Directors with their variance analyses, monitoring and logging activity.
• Prepares reclassifications and/or adjusting entries based on variance analysis reports.
• Reconciles detail AR to GL totals.

Job Requirements:

• At least 3 years of cost accounting and budgeting experience required; hospital-specific experience desired.

• H.S. graduate; B.S. in Accounting or similar desired.
• Strong budgeting and cost accounting skills required and knowledge of productivity systems and operational flows.
