We are seeking a Software Engineer who will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing applications for existing Thomson Reuters products in addition to new development initiatives. As a Software Engineer, you will perform debugging, testing, and code improvement tasks. You will work with customer care and quality assurance teams to optimize products and ensure products continue to satisfy customer needs. The duties of the Software Engineer will primarily revolve around building software by writing code, as well as modifying software to fix errors, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces. You will will be directly involved in system testing and validation procedures. We are looking for individuals who possess excellent communication skills, performs well under pressure, is flexible in nature, and enjoys working in a fast-paced work environment. You must be motivated and possess a strong work ethic. Work is varied, and is organizationally and relationally complex, and requires a high degree of discretion and independent judgment.

In this opportunity as a Software Engineer, you will:
Designs and develops user interfaces to Web/client applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle; determining design methodologies and tool sets; completing programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests.
Integrates applications by designing database architecture and server scripting, studying, and establishing connectivity with network systems, search engines, and information servers.
Completes applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
Supports users by developing documentation and assistance tools.
Updates job knowledge by researching new web/client technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Supports and develops web application developers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities.
Safeguards organizational Human Resources and financial sensitive information from unauthorized usage and individuals.
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Software Engineer if you have:
2+ years of hands-on experience in Application Development using .NET C#
Proficient with SQL queries, stored procedures, views, creating tables
Understanding of the SDLC and Agile, and good practices in software development life cycle
Experience with GIT, TFS or Subversion source code version control
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or closely related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
