Thomson Power Systems Hiring for Sr. Production Manager at Langley, BC Full Time

Thomson Power systems (a Regal Rexnord company) is a leading manufacturer of electrical products and systems for use in the Power Generation Industry for over 40 years. We have an immediate opening in our Langley, BC Canada head office for a Plant Manager and will report to the VP/GM.

The ideal candidate will provide overall operational performance, EH&S and P&L ownership for the Plant, including hands-on leadership of the Regal Business System which enables continuous improvement throughout the value stream. Lead Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost performance to exceed our stakeholders’ expectations and enable growth in the business. Play a key role in creating a vision, as well as achieving short and long term strategic planning objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Organizational Leadership

• Be responsible for the Plant and lead all aspects of the manufacturing operations, facilities, materials and employees.
• Lead a cross-functional organization and operational value stream by setting objectives, developing plans, executing daily management activities and implementing corrective action (as required) to ensure customer success
• Ability to establish organizational vision in both quantitative and qualitative measures with the ability to progress toward established vision.
• Foster a learning organization that is invested in recognizing and understanding performance gaps, instilling organizational energy to perpetually tackle the tough problems, embrace change for the better and progress as both an organization and a business.
• Align the organization toward both the long and short term business objectives.

Drive Business Performance-SQDC

• Effectively develop, communicate and align the organization around the business’ Key Performance Indicators to ensure performance targets are achieved.
• Champion all EH&S efforts. Ensure that employee and product safety are the top priority. Drive a culture of Safety and actively provide leadership relative to safety accountability with site leadership team.
• With the site leadership team, lead the business management cadence (Daily/Weekly/Monthly) that drives Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost performance throughout the organization.
• Responsible for both operational and financial performance of the business focused on Revenue, Operating Income and Cash performance. Effectively manage budgets and spending to achieve both long and short term business objectives.
• Partner with other Site Leaders, Business Unit, Business Segment and Central Functions to ensure both Regal’s and Customer’s Success.

Continuous Improvement Leadership

• Lead the development, organizational alignment and achievement of long term value stream/operational improvement priorities (Policy Deployment).
• Lead Daily Management activities at gemba to drive SQDC improvement and performance across the business.
• Lead and engage employees during kaizens and projects to drive continuous improvement and foster a progressive organization.
• Leverage knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement principles to solve problems utilizing a fact-based, team oriented and structured approach.
• Establish and lead an organization energized by effective problem solving, defect elimination and effective root cause corrective action.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have proven experience in developing collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization. This leader must have the passion, energy and intellectual curiosity necessary for a fast-paced, growth-driven environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience required. Advanced degree preferred.
• 7 + years demonstrated experience with increasing responsibility in Matls, Mfg Eng, Quality, Production, Continuous Improvement ; 3+ years in Leadership role.
• Continuous Improvement Leadership Role and Black Belt in Lean / Six Sigma preferred.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite products.
• Strong management skills with ability to supervise multiple teams.
• Financial analysis skills.
• Material management and planning skills.
• Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Able to multi-task with strong organizational skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work independently and in remote locations
• Ability to interface & provide a high level of technical & customer support to clients
