Overview

Powerblanket is a manufacturer of industrial heating products in Salt Lake City. We manufacture all our products at our facility in Salt Lake City and ship all over the world.

We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator that can help take our operation to the next level of excellence. We are looking for someone who will thrive as part of a small team and is willing to wear several hats.

The ideal candidate will also be willing and able to document processes, seek out opportunities for improvement and execute on those opportunities.

Experienced logistics coordinators play an essential role in a company’s daily operations as they take on the responsibility for communications between production, sales, customers and distributors to create an efficient supply chain.

They are the people responsible for reviewing orders and making sure shipments are being processed correctly and sent out accurately and on time.

Logistics coordinators are also responsible for looking out for errors in the transportation process and fixing them when they arise.

The ideal candidate should have previous experience in a logistics role that has provided an opportunity to enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The logistics coordinator will also be responsible for monitoring the related cost and driving cost savings. This is a hands-on position for an individual capable of executing processes and procedures.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Primary point of contact for customers’ shipping needs. Acts as liaison between sales, operations, end users and distributors regarding shipments.
• Able to follow order management processes and documentation for accurate transactions.
• Assists and provides guidance to sales personnel and end users with shipping processes & procedures, proforma documents, shipping documentation and freight quotes.
• Check for errors or changes before preparing all documentation necessary to ship.
• Contact freight sales personnel regarding shipments, freight rates and negotiations.
• Audit freight bills-outbound and inbound.
• File and follow freight claims.
• Obtain proof of delivery.
• Answer customer questions referring to shipments and transportation channels.
• Resolve any shipment or inventory issues that come up.
• Coordinate with transportation to track the movements of shipments.
• Respond and follow up with all inquiries (written and verbal) for sales personnel and customers related to orders.
• Work closely with Operations to manage finished goods inventory levels as needed.
• Organize and manage inventory and storage.
• Will also operate as the Shipping Clerk (dual role) during the slow season (March to September).

Key Characteristics, Competencies and Skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail.
• Understanding of the supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions.
• Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle multiple orders at once.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Outlook, in particular) or equivalent.
• Proficient in standard logistics software.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Available and able to work full-time on-site. Monday through Thursday, 6 am – 4 : 30 pm. Overtime on Fridays is likely October to February.
• Unrelenting and passionate about driving a culture of accountability and effectively collaborating with managers and coworkers.
