The job: Tax Analyst – 12 month contract

Our team of qualified and experienced Tax professionals has grown in recent times and we require additional resource to support the team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Accounting professional to join an established function in a Global organization. This role is based in our Inchinnan office where our teams work in a hybrid manner.

What will you do?

• Works closely with colleagues within the tax and finance functions in the group to contribute to the smooth operation of the corporate tax compliance function.
• Demonstrates an understanding of tax concepts, applies tax knowledge to situations, and discusses complex tax issues with the tax team, advisors and finance, as appropriate.
• Supports the Global Corporate Tax function, contributing to the global tax compliance and processes, critical for the needs of Thermo Fisher Scientific.
• Manage own time on multiple tax assignments, working effectively with others within the UK tax team and communicating progress and results.
• Interact effectively with other members of the Tax Department in Europe and the United States.
• Coordinate, support and monitor the preparation of Corporate Tax Returns globally.
• Monitor the corporate tax payments for the organisation’s top tier entities.
• Review and support the preparation of the Return to Provision reconciliations for companies.
• Assist in tax authority audits.
• Provide reports to Management on status of Corporate Tax compliance.
• Support tax accounting and participate in project work.

Who we are looking for:

• Professional accountancy qualification desired.
• Relevant experience in corporate tax compliance gained either within the profession or in a similar role in industry.
• Professional tax qualification would be preferred, but not essential.
• Excellent communicator, able to interact at all levels.
• Fully proficient is MS Office, including Excel.
• Proven organisation skills.
• Is tenacious, decisive, flexible and quick.
• Anticipates needs and problems while creating solutions.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency, contagious optimism and a “can do” attitude.
• Is strategic, astute and forward-thinking.
