How will you make an impact?

The Senior Packaging Technician ensures the efficient completion of packaging floor activities in order to meet scheduled production deadlines.in addition, they assures product quality meets the standards of Patheon, our clients, and applicable regulatory agencies including, but not limited to the Health Products and Food Branch Inspectorate (HPFBI), United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and European Medicines Agency (EMEA).

What will you do?

Operate packaging equipment in accordance with established procedures.

Conduct in-process testing and inspections.

Responsible for completing the activities for the preparation of the packaging line(s).

Responsible for training staff in machine operation/packaging techniques and safety issues.

Back up to Packaging Line Leaders.

Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards.

Other duties as assigned.

Please note: In this role, the ability to work flexible rotating shifts is essential

How will you get here?

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum 2 years of previous packaging line experience, in a pharmaceutical, food or cosmetic environment.

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Good manual dexterity.

Ability to work at line speed and with minimal supervision.

Sound knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.

Sound understanding of Standard Operating Procedures.

Sound understanding of safety regulations.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Solid background in line operations, line balance.

Ability to make quality decisions.

Proficiency with the English language, both spoken & written

Physical Requirements:
Work requires moderate physical exertion.

Regularly lifts medium weight objects by hand.

May require recurring bending, crouching, stretching, or reaching. Or may frequently operate equipment, including keyboard and must walk, sit, or stand immobile for prolonged periods.

Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odour.

Safety precautions may be required.

Intermittent need to distinguish among or interpret a variety of sensory inputs that occasionally may not be straightforward. (e.g., data entry)
