The job: Associate Accountant

We have an opportunity based in Inchinnan for an experienced professional to join us in the role of Associate Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity to work in our expanding centre of excellence in an organization considered a global leader in its field. The successful candidate will be the associate accountant for our manufacturing entities based in the UK, Germany & Sweden, supporting the Specialist Diagnostics Group of Thermo Fisher Scientific.

The role requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills. The candidate must have the ability to prioritise and follow through in a fast-paced multitasking environment.

What will you do?

• Manage the daily tracker for banking activity
• Management of suspense accounts
• Working cross functionally with the other finance and non-finance teams based both on site and remotely, particularly the Treasury department
• Quarterly IHB interest calculations
• Running monthly FX revaluations
• Performing balance sheet account reconciliations for internal and external bank accounts
• Supporting the wider team with monthly closing activities
• Ensuring compliance with Corporate Accounting policies, procedures and controls (Sarbanes-Oxley Act)
• Support requests from external and internal auditors as well as various groups companywide.
• Complete ad-hoc projects as requested

Who we are looking for:

• Proactivity to drive continuous improvement
• Excellent communication skills to interact at various levels inside and outside the organisation
• Proficient in MS Excel
• Working knowledge of ERP (SAP) (Desired but not essential)
• Working knowledge of Hyperion (Desired but not essential)
