We are a behavioral health EHR and practice management software company with over 1,000 clients today. We provide EHR, practice management software, and RCM services to private practices, universities, clinics, municipal and state agencies, and hospitals throughout the US and limited international locations.

Overview and Responsibilities

As a billing specialist, your work at TheraManager will focus on ensuring our clients are reimbursed for services provided appropriately. We are looking for individuals committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients, patients’ families, and our practices as they operate to best serve our communities.
You’ll be successful in this role and help grow the company by:

• Being responsible for accurate and timely submission of claims to both mental health and medical (when applicable) payors
• Speaking to patients with customer service in mind, and helping them understand what they owe and options for payment
• Auditing previous mental health and behavioral health services against claim charges
• Resolving any clearinghouse rejections. Escalates issues, as needed, timely and accurately.
• Submitting secondary claims to payors when prompted by the system in a timely manner
• Submitting paper claims to payors when electronic options are unavailable
• Monitoring timely filing denials to understand performance improvement opportunities
• Monitoring rejection/denial trends to identify opportunities to strengthen clearinghouse claim scrubbing
• Assisting with ERA enrollment activities as requested
• Maintaining or exceeding established productivity goals and quality standards
• Performs other related duties as assigned

QualificationsRequired

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills
• Minimum 1 year of billing experience
• Familiar with patient accounting software
• Able to read and understand insurance explanations of benefits and payer contracts
• Ability to travel up to 5% of working time, may include overnight/weekend travel.
• Must reside in one of the following states: MD, PA, WV, GA, CO, NY, NJ, IA, OH or WI
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred

• Experience with Open Practice Solutions or other clearinghouse technologies
• Previous mental health and behavioral health billing experience
• Enjoy solving new and challenging problems
