Job Title: Senior Media Accountant

Contract Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: London, Hammersmith
Reporting to: Manager, Accounting

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will assist with the close accounting processes & deliverables for the Media segment. The role will involve partnering with local Finance and Compliance teams, to ensure timely & accurate reporting, while in compliance with US GAAP. Process improvement project work is an integral part of this role.

The Opportunity & Responsibilities:

• Partnering with the accounting manager to finalize integration of Fox entities, implement Disney processes and resolve legacy issues.
• Responsible for the accounting & reporting processes including co-ordination of all schedules, reconciliations and reporting packages for review by the Senior management
• Working closely with local, EMEA & US teams on a daily basis as the key accounting contact
• Completion of monthly & quarterly BS reconciliations.
• Liaising with the external Auditors at quarter end close.
• Ensuring compliance with Sarbanes Oxley & Disney Minimum Control Standards e.g. journal log.
• Identifying & driving areas of improvement within current processes with the aim of maintaining the current high standard of service provided in a more efficient manner.
• Undertaking various projects to drive efficiency within the team & company as a whole.
• Supporting management & wider finance team on any ad-hoc duties

The Experience We Require From You:

• Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA
• Media experience
• Advanced excel skills
• SAP experience
• Ability to analyse information critically
• Adaptable & ability to manage tight deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships across all level of the organisation.
