The Instructional Design Project Manager (IDPM) is responsible for end-to-end development and often performs multiple functions on a project, including Project Management, Instructional Design, Instructional Writer, and sometimes even technical development.
The IDPM must be able to quickly assess audience/business needs and identify the appropriate learning solution to achieve the desired outcome, including instructor led, blended, experiential, media based, performance support, and other emerging technologies.
This position interacts directly with multiple teams within the learning organization, client representatives, and subject matter experts. Therefore, individuals are required to work with a high degree of collaboration, consultation, and focus on client service. Each IDPM generally carries 3 to 5 projects of varying complexities and with different points of contact simultaneously. Priorities change rapidly, so the ability to pivot quickly and effectively is an absolute requirement.
Responsibilities :
Analyze learning needs and propose effective learning solutions
Design and develop high-quality learning solutions balancing speed to market and scale
Initiate and manage throughout the lifecycle of a project, including initiation, designing project plans, executing all milestones and tasks, monitoring risk, and successfully reaching stated learning goals
Author scripts and other course materials, applying various writing styles and demonstrating an expertise in grammar, punctuation, spelling, company nomenclature, and copyright compliance
Collaborate effectively with immediate members of the team and others on the project
Communicate and host routine project meetings with key partners
Ensure that all learning solutions reflect our company’s values related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Utilize data and measurement as an integral component of all product development to ensure intended outcomes are measured and produced
Develop and nurture inclusive relationships with peers and partners
Manage vendor projects, as needed
Build relationships with key partners to become a trusted advisor
Manage assigned projects/programs with minimal guidance
Basic Qualifications :
Working knowledge of Instructional Design with demonstrated strong potential to develop new skills quickly
Preferred Qualifications:
Formal education in Instructional Design or equivalent
Experience with Instructional Design development tools, such as Articulate Storyline and Rise, as well as Adobe creative suite or other graphics programs
