Finance Assistant

VibePay is disrupting the payments industry by changing the way businesses and consumers pay and get paid via innovative Open Banking powered technologies. We are on a mission to make account to account payments the preferred way to pay and get paid through the VibePay App.

What we are looking for

Due to a period of growth, VibePay is now looking for a Finance Assistant to support their Finance function across the three Vibe Group companies. Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the finance function across the three Vibe Group Companies.

The successful candidate will be a confident self-starter who is comfortable working in a rapidly changing FCA regulated start-up environment whilst also possessing excellent organisation skills.

This is a full-time role, working on a hybrid model to be predominantly home based but within commutable distance to our Lancaster office.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsibility for the day-to-day book keeping for the three Vibe Group companies including monthly and quarterly reporting

• Running monthly payrolls and workplace pension administration

• Making supplier, salary and expenses payments whilst being mindful of cash flow

• Maintaining supplier relationships and contracts as the primary contact

• Production of consolidated monthly management accounts for inclusion in the board pack

• Production of the quarterly reports for the British Business Bank and the Financial Conduct Authority

• Maintenance of a detailed cash flow forecast

• Occasional liaison with external professional advisers and investors

• Assisting department heads with recruitment administration and new employee onboarding

• Dealing with incoming correspondence

• Assisting with work socials and events (on occasion)

Essential Skills

• AAT Level 3 or above or QBE with at least 5 years in a similar role

• Xero Certified with at least 2 year’s practical experience

• High-level proficiency in Excel

• Confident and articulate communicator

• Detail orientated and able to work from own initiative

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with Xero add-ons such as Fathom and Dext (Receipt Bank)

• Previous experience of working within a Fintec start-up

• Experience working in an FCA-regulated business
