Summary:

Talent Manager role provides support for all staffing needs in Waco and Austin for The UPS Stores. Their primary duty is to hire an average of 2 people each month for Holy Ship owned The UPS Stores in store staff, management, and support staff. The secondary duty is to handle all communication between candidates and management, new team members and management, and follow up with 90 day, 6 month, and 1 year reviews for new team members, as well as track training progress for all team members and provide training reports to managers. They would be responsible for oversight, upkeep and financial management of all job postings and manage several other recruiting methods. They will use multiple different sites and figure out ways to hire individuals outside of singular job postings on one site.

The Talent Manager communicates regularly with field managers to understand current staffing levels and upcoming needs of all the Waco and Austin Stores. With hiring for each location, the Talent Manager is responsible for understanding and championing the vision and values of Holy Ship, LLC and is able to use that knowledge to seek out, find, and hire candidates that are interested in joining the Holy Ship, LLC Family. The Talent Managers will seek candidates who are intentional, positive, and highly motivated to work as a team member under Holy Ship, LLC’s vision and values alongside other team members.

Talent Manager would be primarily based out of a Waco or Austin office, and work from home options can be considered. We anticipate this role requiring approximately 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Hire an average of 2 people each month (Austin x2, Austin/Waco, Austin x2, Austin/Waco)

• Manage and oversee all recruiting methods to maintain a high level of interested and qualified candidates. Including but not limited to

• Online posting sites such as Indeed or university specific job sites/Targeted Facebook ads by demographic or other criteria

• Offline job postings (university recruiting centers, job fairs, church community boards, etc)

• Team Member Referral Program – utilizing team’s social networks for recruiting

• Exploring other creative ways to find quality candidates that are a good fit for our culture, while focusing on return and fiscal responsibility

• Travel when necessary to Austin or Waco. Examples would be an in-person recruiting event or an in-person meeting with managers.

• Conduct all Phone/Zoom Interviews with candidates

• Schedule and perform all phone interviews for all stores/Holy Ship LLC entities

• Explain Mission Statement of Holy Ship, LLC

• Explain benefits/compensation package

• Answer any questions about raises/advancement opportunities

• Coordinate all schedules for interviews between candidates and management

• Physical Interview I with Store Managers/Area Managers (at least 2)

• Physical Interview II with Store Managers/Area Managers/Vice President/Support Staff (at least 2)

• Working Interviews I during high traffic times always under supervision (cannot be understaffed) (6-8 Hours)

• Handle all communications with candidates about status of application/interview process

• Send out Rejection and Offer letters/emails

• Schedule Start Date with Trainers in Austin and Waco and also with Candidates

• Works with HR and Operations to track and ensure all Onboarding steps are completed

• Understands hiring according to the needs of the store — looking for candidates that fit our Vision and Values, the traffic/volume of each store, additionally, candidates that have good typing and grammar skills (for shipments/transactions/emails)

• Signs each new team member up for company work applications

• Follow up and keep track of reviews, ensure they are being completed within 7-10 business days of each marker

• Track and record team member training progress. Provide progress reports to managers.

• Professionalism – emails are consistent in proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation; can identify professional resumes; phone interviews are not “casual phone calls” but calls with a purpose and no additional bias involved

• Organized – manages a calendar with all new hires and their upcoming reviews; sends out reminders; manages multiple candidates during the interview process; keeps track of awards given to team members; maintain a well organized and clean work space/environment

• Technology proficient – ability to use g-suite, facebook, indeed, and any additional hiring sites/tools necessary to posting job openings efficiently and effectively

• Communication – over communicates effectively with candidates, management, and does not delay any communication involving other parties

• Positive attitude – is excited about working for Holy Ship, LLC and joyfully casts vision and values to candidates and champions that while working for Holy Ship, LLC

• Timeliness – keeps the entire interview process for candidates to no longer than 2 weeks (phone interview to offer letter)

• Multi-Task – can coordinate with multiple candidates at a time and keep track of scheduling their interview process (phone, 1st physical, 2nd physical, working interviews, references, and offer/rejection letters)

• Interpersonal Skills – ability to create heartfelt super server cards, anniversary cards, and anything directly going to team members from Holy Ship Management
