This part-time (0.6FTE) fixed-term position is available immediately until 30 June 2023, with the possibility of extension depending on funding.
The Australian Plant Phenomics Facility (APPF) is a national research facility established in 2009 as part of the Commonwealth National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy. The Adelaide node of the APPF, known as The Plant Accelerator®, is located on the University of Adelaide’s Waite Campus, and is a world leading plant growth and analysis facility fitted with high quality plant growth environments and state-of-the-art high-throughput imaging and data analysis technology.
The Plant Accelerator® is seeking a self-motivated individual who will be responsible for the maintenance of the facility’s on and offsite IT infrastructure. This will include virtual machines, physical desktops, and bespoke research equipment. The IT Systems Administrator will carry out preventative maintenance tasks, such as the patching and updating of operating systems, software, and firmware, and operational, ad-hoc tasks such as troubleshooting of integrated systems. Other tasks will include the management of the facility’s databases and file stores, including scheduled backups, manual archival processes and occasional data retrieval or exploration. Working in a dynamic team, you will also support the wider activities of the Australian Plant Phenomics Facility to deliver measurable impacts to the plant science community.
