General Description
Working and living at the Tuxedo Club is unlike any other place you’ll ever experience. Described by the New York Times as “a time warp beyond stone gates”, in the safe and quiet gated community of Tuxedo Park you’ll find yourself surrounded by Great Gatsby style mansions, lakes, and hills. You’ll live in an area that Albert Einstein once experimented in, where the tuxedo originated, and the area Emily Post wrote the Blue Book of Etiquette about. This doesn’t even scratch the surface of the history that’s been created here in the last few hundred years.
The Employee Experience
Working here will help you fine tune your skills in the industry. Our management team is dedicated to developing our employees and equipping you with the tools necessary to succeed. We’re “family” oriented, as in we are all one giant family when you come to work here. You’ll feel welcome immediately and excited to create memories with fellow employees.
Ideal Candidate
Here at the Tuxedo Club hospitality experience is preferred, but we are always willing to train the right candidates. For us it’s more important to find the candidate with the best attitude! Are you energetic and excited about working? Are you able to learn multiple roles and adapt to a changing environment? If so, Tuxedo is the place for you!
Room and Board
Our room and board differs depending on job position. For most job positions we provide dorms or shared dorms with shared restrooms. For management positions we provide small apartments. Our housing is unique in the fact that it is located on property and in most cases inside the Main Clubhouse itself. We provide two meals a day – lunch and dinner.
Employee Perks
We offer our employees free access to the golf course certain days of the week, use of our kayaks and pontoon boats when not in use by members, access to our clubhouse and patios after business hours, an employee break room complete with a pool table, discounts on items in our tennis and golf pro shops, and so much more! Get ready to feel spoiled by a job!
Getting Here and Getting Around
If you’re arriving via plane without bringing your car, we recommend EWR but can also arrange transportation from JFK or LGA. Since we have multiple clubhouses, we have a shuttle that runs employees back and forth from housing to whichever location you’ll be working at! We are within walking distance to a train station and bus station to make it to NYC or other surrounding areas. Cars are encouraged, however, most of our employees don’t have cars and we can certainly accommodate you if you won’t have one.
For Fun
Around the park you can find lakes to swim or fish in, trails to hike, local bars to enjoy, libraries, and a variety of cuisines from all over the world. What’s more, is that you are an hour away from the greatest city in the world! In NYC the possibilities are endless; concerts, museums, shops, restaurants, Broadway, Central Park, Times Square, it’s exactly what you dreamed it would be!
