Job Summary
The Financial Accountant will report to the Director of Finance and work closely with the MD and different departments to provide financial organisation to The Third Floor London. The financial accountant will also be responsible for overseeing the finance assistant and reviewing their work. You will have proven experience in managing company finances, in addition to financial and cost tracking skills. The role will also require you to provide timely and accurate financial reporting of the performance of current projects with analysis, auditing and payroll processing.

Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis:

• Work with Department Managers / Heads of Departments on their department allocation and budgets and expenditure

• Evaluate and analyse monthly actuals against budget and prior periods (and investigate any major discrepancies)

• Prepare weekly financial projections for discussion with the MD

Accounting & Financial Reporting:

• Responsible for maintaining accurate records; reports of company budgeting; financial information

• Work with TTF LA on company management accounts; reporting systems

• Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger

• Ensure monthly close is completed in a timely fashion and prepare monthly reports

• Maintain accounts receivable ageing and follow-ups on outstanding invoices

• Acting as the point of contact in conjunction with the MD and LA Finance team

• Contact for HMRC and Audit contact – VAT/Corp Tax filing, ensuring that TTFL is compliant with all regulations in conjunction with the LA Finance team

• Work with an external accounting firm to provide support for company tax returns and annual audits

• Track expenditures related to R&D for future R&D tax credit purposes

• Track and maintain all company Capex spends and related depreciation

• Develop, update and maintain internal control procedures

• Prepare and record lease, loan and other schedules as needed

• Ensure proper compliance with accounting policies and stay current on additions, changes, etc.

• Oversee work prepared by Finance Assistant

• Process bi-weekly payment runs using an online banking portal

• Review and crosscheck monthly payroll in conjunction with the Talent team

• Prepare Bank Reports monthly

Production Finance:

• Oversee Timecards ensuring they are inputted accurately on a weekly basis and flagging any discrepancies and resolving them

• Create and enter project & department salary allocations on a monthly basis to Quickbooks

• Review of weekly/bi-weekly processing of client invoicing

• Responsible (with the Production Manager) for ensuring all shows are covered within Contracted, PO or Change Orders

• Work with the Legal team to ensure any billing schedules per contract are adhered to properly

• Participate in weekly Casting and Production meetings to keep informed on the shows, work, clients, expenses and general operations of the LDN office

• Review project-specific gross margins against estimates and investigate unusual relationships

• Provide analysis on show, studio and project type gross margins

• Ensure all project-related expenses are invoiced as needed

• Be a resource as needed for the Production team for any issues with financial documents – tracking docs, bids, etc.

• Liaise with the PMs about project efficiencies, casting numbers and the tracking documents

• Maintain key documents to track all revenues, bids, billable time, overhead etc.

• Track all costs, timecards; budgets on all projects

Essential requirements

• Studying towards an accounting qualification (ACCA/ CIMA/ACA)

• Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills

• Advanced use of Excel (including pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)

• Experience with budgets and business partnering

• Great communication skills

• Discretion of dealing with high sensitivity documentation

• VFX or Media experience is a distinct advantage
