The Summit Area YMCA (SAY) is seeking a personable, patient, passionate Pickleball Instructor to teach members and participants the game of pickleball. The Pickleball Instructor is responsible for the instruction, lesson planning, follow up and member relations related to their class. They are to provide a safe, fun, friendly and well-rounded learning environment for participants while adhering to the YMCA Supervision and Safety Standards.

Salary & Benefits: *
The salary for this position starts at $30.00/ hour and is based on experience. This Part Time position is anticipated to work between 2 – 6 hours per week. Schedule is dependent on instructor and participant(s) availability. Classes are taught on site at either the Summit or Berkeley Heights YMCA branch.

Essential Functions:

• Instructs participant(s) in the proper skills and fundamentals of pickleball.
• Creates an educational, safe, and inviting experience for all participants.
• Records class attendance for your session(s).
• Properly store and maintain equipment. Reports any damaged equipment to supervisor.
• Be enthusiastic and confident about what you are teaching.
• Be appropriately dressed-no open toed shoes at any time in the gymnasium.
• Notify the Sports Director of schedule problems with sufficient notice.
• Keep Sports Director informed of all first aid concerns, discipline or other significant problems.
• Record and report all incidents to the Sports Director immediately.
• Attend any scheduled staff meetings or training’s.
• Perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by the Sports Director.

Requirements: Qualifications:

• Must possess either a IPTPA or PPR certification
• At least of 1 year experience teaching players how to play pickleball.
• CPR / First Aid Certified.
