The Staffing Group Hiring for Junior Financial Accountant Job at Brisbane Full Time

Maxima are seeking a Junior Financial Accountant for Logan City Council to start immediately for a duration of up to 6 months.

This is a great learning opportunity for your career and would suit someone who has completed an accounting degree/diploma or with only a couple of years in an accounting role.

We require excellent communication skills to fit into their accounting team of 6 people. This is a very supportive environment. Use your advanced skills in of excel and accounting concepts are critical to this position.

You will work Monday – Friday with a casual hourly pay of $38.30 + super. There may be some work from home opportunities after a period of time and a laptop will be given.

Key Responsibilities:

• General Ledger Reconciliations, Bank Reconciliation, Journal processing, EOM processing, Integrity checking & investigating and resolving variances/discrepancies
• Undertaking processing of approved financial transactions representing the activities of Council
• Undertaking integrity and review processes prior to the distribution of financial information
• Presenting financial information in a format that is useful to users
• Complying with accounting, taxation and corporate legislation
• Maintain records and funds reports in support of third party monies provided to Council in the form of trust funds, grants and subsidies and developer and other contributions
• Providing accounting and asset advice

About You:

• Progress towards a degree in a finance related discipline or demonstrated practical experience in a financial position
• Ability to accurately reconcile source documents to system outputs
• A high degree of computer literacy particularly in spread-sheeting and financial packages
• Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles and procedures
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels
