About the Job
Swinburne is embarking on an exciting journey, working towards our new vision of bringing people and technology together to build a better world. We are seeking an experienced and highly driven professional to be responsible for maintaining the Finance system as well as identifying and implementing improvements in processes and reporting through developing report writing solutions, building improved functionality and streamlining transactional processes.
As the Finance Systems Accountant, you will also be responsible for:
maintaining and improving the integration with other systems and databases across the University including the HRIS system (Workday), Load & Revenue database and other systems are required to support reporting and analysis across the University; and
ensuring the integrity of financial data and processes through the University Finance Systems, and provides analysis, reporting, and testing of data as required.
Developing standardised reporting tools to support and enhance the financial planning and analysis and improve decision making across the University with key stakeholders
Reporting to the Associate Director Commercial and FP&A, you will operate within a flexible and friendly environment, and collaborate with others who are passionate about contributing to the delivery of our 2025 Strategic Plan.

About you
To be suitable for the role you will possess:
Accounting degree.
Membership of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountants Australia (CPA).
Advance knowledge in Finance systems (preferable Technology 1) and software/database development skills.
Either experience working in a large and complex organisation, in a Commercial Finance, General Finance or Financial Planning & Analysis team, or similar experience gained in a Chartered firm.
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills combined with the ability to generate practical and effective solutions.
