The Staffing Group Hiring for Company Accountant Job at Sydney Full Time

• WFH with visits to the Hawkesbury office once a week

• Fixed Term Contract approximately 8 months, starting late January

The Role:

An opportunity for a Company Accountant to cover a contract of 8 months. Reporting to the Finance Director you will have full responsibility over the accounting function, payroll and tax.

Responsibilities:

• Month-end Closing including posting of monthly journals
• Preparation of monthly balance sheet (GL) reconciliations/analysis and maintain subledger reconciliations (Bank, AR, AP, Inventory, etc);
• Preparation and review of audit files for the external auditors;
• Liaise with stakeholders including customers, suppliers, bank, ATO, auditors etc and assist or resolve queries in a timely manner;
• Respond to ad-hoc requests for financial information by Finance, Sales and Marketing team;
• Assist with accounts receivable and payables procedures e.g. review of credit insurance limits, ensure timely payments;
• Processing of Monthly Payroll, employee expenses and related payroll processes and reporting (Super, Payroll Tax, Workers Comp, etc);
• Assist with new customer setup, pricing, order release as part of the customer onboarding process or maintenance to ensure internal controls are in place;
• Monthly preparation and lodgement of BAS/ GST, FBT, Withholding tax etc.
• Quarterly/ Annual Intercompany reconciliation
• Ensure accounting processes, company policies and guidelines are adhered and comply with IFRS, ATO and other statutory requirements

About You:

• CA or CPA Qualifications or working towards it
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Intermediate or Advanced Excel Skills (pivot, if, vlook-up, index formula)
• Previous experience within a similar role
• Can both work independently and with a team
