The Staffing Group Hiring for Assistant Accountant Job at Melbourne Full Time

This permanent, full-time opportunity reports to our Finance Supervisor and supports our awesome Financial Operations team in the day to day accounting for our advisory divisions. We’re a rapidly growing team on the lookout for Melbourne’s best talent to join us through this exciting period of growth.

What you’ll be doing:

• Maintaining the general ledger, including regular reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts
• Assisting with month-end and year-end responsibilities including reconciliations, journal entries and workpaper preparation
• Preparation of month end reports and dashboards, including carrying out variance analysis against budget
• Preparation of annual budgets and mid-year re-forecasting
• Assisting in establishing the financial reporting framework for new divisions, including set-up of Xero files, bank accounts and business registrations

Requirements

We want to hear from people who have:

• 1-2 years experience in Business Services/Public practice accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• An intermediate to advanced level in the full Microsoft office suite, particularly Excel and Word
• Prior experience with Xero Accounting software viewed favourably
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with a proactive approach
• Ongoing work rights, we are not able to consider temporary graduate visas or working holidays
