About the role:
A full time Accounts Officer/Accounts Payable to be based in the Melbourne CBD. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is looking to hone their accounting skills and gain experience in a busy organisation.
Reporting directly to the Department Manager – Accounting, Finance & Payroll and you will be part of a dynamic team, under a CPA guidance, where your contribution will be valued as part of this dynamic organization.
Key Responsibilities:
You will work with the team to ensure that you are processing efficiently and to timelines. Specifically your tasks will include the following but not limited to:
Reconciliation and payment of vendor invoices (End to end Accounts Payable function)
Sort, coding and process overheads invoices
Process suppliers payments in line with contractual agreement
Periodically review and control the accuracy and commercial competitiveness of certain accounts including, but not limited to, utility supply, telephone expenses, and etc.
Maintain vendor relationships, answering any queries satisfactorily
Complete month end duties including petty cash and credit card reconciliation, adjustments, and GL reconciliations
Assist with weekly cash flow forecast
Supporting with store phone queries in a timely and professional manner
Assist with payroll processing when required
General administration tasks as required
The ideal candidate for this position will:
Have proven experience in an end to end Accounts Payable role
Have a solid technical understanding of accounting
Display superior communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and be experienced with computerised accounting package (SAP B1 is preferred but not essential)
Quick learner, positive can-do attitude with a very strong work ethic
Be happy working as part of a team but also be competent and confident in working independently and managing your own work load
Accurate data entry required as is the ability to liaise with all levels in the organisation
Attention to detail and provide consistent performance with a zero to low tolerance to errors
Desire to initiate and drive continuous improvement initiatives;
