We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Accountant to join our team based in Gilwell Park, Chingford, London (with remote working options). You will join our team on a full time, permanent basis (35 hours per week).

The Systems Accountant Role:

You will oversee and maintain the Financial Systems of The Scout Association (The Charity), Scout Services Ltd, Scout Products Limited, and Scout Insurance Services Ltd (Unity). Reviewing and maintaining all financial systems policies and procedures. Collaborating with the Digital and finance team to meet business requirements. Troubleshooting and fixing finance related system issues. Training and supporting finance team members in the use of financial systems and procedures.

Key responsibilities as our Systems Accountant:

• Leading on the review of the current software and processes with the objective of transformational changes in the way we record, document, account, report and analysis of our finances
• Ensuring full use of finance systems functionality to improve the efficiency of department and accuracy of information produced
• Being the main point of contact with the Digital team for any Financial System issues
• Maintaining the coding, user, approvals, reporting and consolation structures of the group
• Maintaining the interface/integration of the various financial systems including payroll, expenses/credit card, event books and billing, purchase orders, payments, General Ledger and FP&A software
• Reviewing and improving reporting processes to enable budget holders to make decisions based on their financial management information
• Reviewing and improving management accounts and budget reports to increase efficiency and accuracy of reports
• Reviewing preparation of annual statutory accounts with the objective to reduce manual interventions
• Designing new /ad-hoc reports on reporting software Adaptive Planning, Sun Q&A or Excel as appropriate
• Participating in financial and non-financial projects as appropriate

What we are looking for in our Systems Accountant:

• Extensive knowledge and understanding of computerised accounting and reporting systems
• Excellent numerical and communication skills
• Part qualified accountant or QBE
• Educated to a good standard of literacy and written communication
• Advanced use of MS Office
