The Palms Restaurant & Lounge Hiring for Sommelier Full Time

The Plams Restaurant & Lounge is looking to add a very personable wine expert to our evolving business model. The suscessful candidate will be the focal point for our new wine bar. ‘The Hideaway Wine Bar’ will consist of 26 seats, a new small plate and shareable menu, additional wine offerings and a rotating feature sheet of local and not so local wines.

The position calls for a high degree of wine expertise. WSET Level 2 at a minimum andthe ability to accurately pair wints with varies food options. The ability to treat this new start up as a business within our bigger business model.

Generation of repeat business through a very friendly approach to enhancing our guests evenings. As our guests have an opportunity to sample the new menu and develop and appreciation for the opportunity to gain exposure to new, incredible wines paired with new tasty small plate offerings, we will add other options for their enjoyment.

A Port program is being developed, small batch local cider products will be added to the menu. A few interesting beer variesties will be added to the mix.

This position is a minimum of 4 days per week and ideally 5 days a week. The starting wage will be negotiated based on experience and credentials. Please forward a resume with a cover letter to be considered for this postion.

Responsibilities:

• Be able to make cocktails under pressure.
• Create original cocktail recipes.
• Be able to make drinks from memory.
• Monitor the quality of ingredients used.
• Ensure the cleanliness of the bar and work area.
• Advise customers on drinks and food items that pair well with alcohol.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $17.00-$21.00 per hour
