Ombudsman Services (OS) covers the energy, communications and private parking sectors resolving over 150,000 complaints and appeals each year. With more than 400 colleagues and annual revenue of over £25m, OS is the largest multi-sector ombudsman in the UK.

Providing a free service to consumers, the company is funded by participating companies through a combination of subscription and case fees. People come to us once a company’s own complaint handling system has been exhausted.

High quality complaint handling and investigation is essential to find out if things have gone wrong and how to put things right. Using their own data and insight gathered from each case, OS works together with these businesses to improve customer service and business practice, not just for each company but across entire markets, helping to shape wider change and improvement for all consumers, not just those who come to the ombudsman.

What you will be doing

Reporting into the HR Manager and joining our established People & Purpose team, you will be working alongside colleagues in the HR team and liaising with Ombudsman Services teams to support and coordinate their recruitment needs. Specifically, here are some of the responsibilities that you’ll have.

  • Evaluate, develop and deliver new and innovative resourcing models to further enhance OS in the market
  • Create an internal candidate provisioning service
  • Lead on salary benchmarking processes and creation of an internal salary/banding structure
  • Attending external events aligned to the people strategy as a voice of OS.
  • Actively seeking strategic and operational opportunities and brokering relationships with peers and external contacts as required.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to qualify their recruitment needs and design a recruitment campaign that will deliver the best solution
  • Manage the full end to end recruitment process and talent pipeline to ensure OS can achieve it’s objectives. Including, compiling job descriptions, candidate attraction, advertising vacancies, CV selection, coordinating interviews, telephone interviews as required, monitoring and reviewing responses, maintaining accurate and effective recruitment files
  • Ensure that all recruitment processes and activities are aligned to consistently deliver an excellent candidate experience
  • To operate in line with set KPIs and budget, working as efficiently and effectively as possible to minimise vacancy fill time and cost.
  • Review success of attraction campaigns while maintaining recruitment statistics and identify areas for improvement.
  • To assist in establishing an effective succession planning tool to identity pipeline talent and identify potential future gaps.
  • Manage projects and support the wider HR team as appropriate and as required for the benefit of the business.
  • Scope, design and implement an apprentice and/or graduate programme for 2022

Have you got what are we looking for?

Essential Skills / Experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar role dealing with high volume recruitment campaigns
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, quality, and process
  • Able to balance a workload with changing priorities
  • Experienced in dealing with the full end to end recruitment lifecycle
  • Exceptional internal and external stakeholder management skills Excellent communication skills with a strong client service focus.
  • Strong analytical capability with skills to analyse MI to support the strategic
  • Competent in all MS Office packages particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Previous experience using an ATS

Hours of work:
  • This is a full time 37.5 hour per week role; however, we welcome applications from people that may require flexible working arrangements.
  • Ideally you will live local to Daresbury Park, Warrington, and be able to attend the office 3 days a week (work from home for the other 2).
