The New England Times Hiring for New England based Journalists (freelance) at Tamworth Regional, New South Wales, Australia Full Time

The New England Times (netimes.com.au) is a new hyper-local news outlet based in Armidale in the heart of the New England, NSW.

We need more freelance journalists based in the New England North West to join our team

Our coverage area includes:

• The Northern Tablelands, including the major centres of Armidale, Inverell, Glen Innes, Guyra, Tenterfield, Uralla, Walcha and all the surrounding villages.
• The surrounding North West, including the Liverpool Plains and Moree Plains, and major centres of Tamworth, Quirindi, Barraba, Bingara, Warialda, Narrabri, Boggabri, Gunnedah, Manilla, Moree, Willow Tree and surrounding villages.

Any suitable candidates with some journalism experience in those centres or nearby villages would be warmly welcomed and have plenty of stories to do.

Unfortunately we do not have the resources to train cadets/journalism students at the moment, but if you can demonstrate you can write a yarn and have good local connections, those without experience are welcome to apply.

Remuneration will be on a per-story basis and can be done from anywhere, but we are specifically in need of people who live in or have strong local connections to our local communities.
