The Natural Capital Accounting Coordinator (NCAC) supports the delivery of TNC’s ocean accounting programs, specifically environmental economic accounting and associated supporting tools and software. They lead project management and planning, stakeholder engagement, project governance and support monitoring, evaluation and reporting for TNC’s natural capital accounting calculator project. They may also support the delivery of other ocean accounting projects, such as blue bonds, as required.
The NCAC will lead an important natural capital accounting project for TNC Australia’s Oceans Program which will deliver a prototype natural capital calculator for use by government, the private sector and academia. The NCAC is responsible for project management and planning, government and stakeholder engagement, project governance, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. They will assist team members to undertake environmental modelling, research, spatial analysis and ecosystem service analysis as required to deliver the objectives of the project. Working as part of a national team, secondary functions include data processing, curation, analysis and reporting. They may also communicate and work with a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials, scientists, business leaders, community groups and Traditional Owners.
The NCAC will assist with developing and managing budgets, monitor and measure project progress, conduct corrective action as necessary and communicate project status information to all stakeholders. They will also perform risk management, issue resolution, and conflict management, and collaboratively solve complex problems. The NCAC will work closely with team members of the Oceans Program in a team’s based management matrix including engaging with other business functions such as science, communications, business development and finance to achieve their project objectives collaboratively.
