Join us here in beautiful Kew, just 10 minutes’ walk from the Overground and Underground stations, and you can expect an excellent range of benefits. They include a pension, wellbeing resources (e.g. on-site therapists) and an on-site gym, restaurant, shop and staff bar.
This is a full time post. However, requests for part-time working, flexible working and job share will be considered, taking into account at all times the operational needs of the Department. A combination of onsite and home working is available and applicants should be able to regularly travel to our Kew site.

In your personal statement please explain, using examples, how you meet the essential criteria below. You may draw on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience gained from paid work, domestic responsibilities, education, leisure interests and voluntary activities. Essential:
1. Knowledge to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent of British History.
2. Qualified teacher status.
3. Experience as a teacher at primary or secondary level within the last 3 years. Or experience teaching in a heritage setting in the last 3 years.
4. Experience of researching and using historical sources or archival material in a learning environment.
5. Ability to work on own initiative and have a flexible approach.
6. Excellent communication and team working skills.
7. Ideas, creativity and enthusiasm.
8. Good ICT skills within a learning environment.
Desirable:
1. A History degree.
2. Experience of delivering or co-ordinating schools visits.
3. Experience of delivering an outreach or family programme.
4. Masters Degree level qualification in Education or experience of contributing to/ participating in a professional development programme.
5. Experience of using learning platforms and remote teaching environments.
6. Knowledge of the records held by the National Archives.
7. Administrative experience.
