The Melbourne Hotel (WA) Hiring for Chief Accountant Job at Perth Full Time

About the Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Chief Accountant is responsible for assisting the Finance Department in accounting duties of The Melbourne Hotel. The person will also liaise with the Directors and Head Office, based in Singapore. This is a Full-Time position.

Duties and Responsibilities (but are not limited to the following):

The person will be responsible for overseeing General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll functions:

· Perform month end procedures and financial reporting, including review and analysis of cash flow and financial results

· Ensure compliance to tax and other local regulatory requirements, including dealings with suppliers and contracts of the hotel

· Process fortnightly payroll and reports

· Ensure implementation of hotel policies and supervise operations including cashiering, invoicing, purchasing and inventory

· Ensure accuracy in the financial systems of the hotel, including accounting & payroll system, timesheet system, Oracle Simphony/MIRCOS and Opera system

· Undertake any other related tasks / duties / assignments given by the manager

What we’re looking for:

· Relevant Accountancy degree with experience in similar role for at least 4 years, and with appropriate professional body qualification (e.g. CA, CPA)

· Preferably with understanding of finance operations within the Hotel industry

· Strong ability in use of Microsoft software, in particular Excel

· Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadline, with accuracy and attention to details

· Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, within a professional environment

· Ability to work effectively in a team and independently

· Ability to develop and maintain sound working relationship with people at all levels and maintain confidentiality in dealing with issues of a sensitive or personal nature
