The Associate Director for Quality and Education plans, organizes, develops and directs all staff development programs and continuous quality improvement programs throughout the facility and in accordance with current applicable federal, state, local and facility guidelines/regulations to ensure that the highest degree of quality is maintained at all times. This RN will also participate and gather data regarding the antibiotic stewardship program and provide educational resources and materials to providers. This individual assumes daily duties of the Assistant Director of Nursing in his/her absence, provides on-call nursing staff coverage, participates in administrative weekend coverage rotation, coordinates and reviews pre-employment physicals and annual health screens, supervises, schedules and coordinates orientation of RNs and LPNs, ensures a planned orientation with all employees, serves as the facility contact for the WNY Mutual Aid program, administers mandatory infection control in services, maintains current OSHA records, maintains current workers comp records and completes other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
Requirements:
New York State Registered Professional Nurse licensure
Experience in long-term care facility preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to follow written and verbal instructions
Knowledge and experience with current OSHA regulations preferred but not required
No findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment and misappropriation of property
Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills
Ability to supervise and work well with and show respect toward other health care personnel (i.e., CNAs, LPNs, physicians, etc.), residents and their family members
Caring and compassionate bedside manner
Respect for residents’ privacy and rights; display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly
Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness and kindness
Physical endurance for frequent activity; ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
