The Magazine Publishing Company Hiring for Journalist at Greater Brisbane Area Full Time

TMPC Creative Media is looking for a talented journalist/editor to join our editorial team.

TMPC is an award-winning publisher of B2B and industry magazines. We cover industries such as baking, retail food stores, energy generation and distribution, building and development, local government, electrical and even thoroughbred racing. You’re not required to have knowledge in these industries—just a desire to learn!

We are looking for a journalist/editor with 2-3 years of experience to join our team based in Nundah.

Our ideal candidate is a highly organised individual who can write great long-form yarns as well as punchy news stories. You must have an excellent eye for spelling, grammar and punctuation, and be able to edit copy precisely and efficiently.

This role will see you interviewing talent; writing news stories, feature articles and advertorial for both print and web; editing and proofreading; compiling digital content such as newsletters and social media posts; organising photography; and liaising with clients and stakeholders.

While not essential, experience in social media and digital content will be considered highly desirable, as well as experience in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign), Wordpress and MailChimp.

• Have completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or Communications
• Have 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Possess excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
• Be highly organised and efficient.
