The Lodge at Bryce Canyon, LLC Hiring for Human Resources Manager at Bryce, Utah Full Time

Full-time year round position in Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah.  Must be willing to relocate to be considered.  Housing included plus benefits package!

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for coordinating all human resources activities including staffing, employee orientation, employee relations, benefits enrollment, and administration of company policies. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:

• Works with the General Manager to develop and maintain property Approved Position Worksheet (APW)
• Develops and ensures job descriptions are up to date.
• Manage ongoing seasonal hospitality recruiting process beginning in November (180 positions); review incoming employment applications, interview, and make hiring recommendations to fill vacant positions.
• Partner with J-1 visa sponsorship agencies and facilitate program.
• Responsible for overseeing employee onboarding process.
• Coordinate employee housing assignments and perform employee housing inspections as necessary.
• Facilitate background screening for all new hires.
• Manage the on-site drug testing program and take appropriate action on failed tests.
• Manage and facilitate the new hire orientation program.
• Ensure all employees receive employee handbook and sign handbook acknowledgement.
• Distribute and manage inventory quantities of uniforms and name tags.
• Provide Payroll Department with changes such as pay rates, arrival/departure dates.
• Plan and coordinate employee events and activities.
• Work with department managers to train all staff members on harassment prevention, safety standards, and company policies and procedures.
• Responsible for all employee relations matters.  Conduct personnel investigations with assistance from Home Office HR.
• Recommend and determine disciplinary action as necessary and confirm action with Home Office HR.
• Assist with terminations and ensure that check-out procedures have been followed.
• Manage end of the season evaluation process and ensure that all department managers complete end of season evaluations for seasonal and regular employees.
• Facilitate employee exit interviews.
• Manage three direct reports.
• Maintain personnel records.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
• Abide by and enforce all company, environmental, health and safety management program policies and procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

MARGINAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:

• Participate in the manager-on-duty program.
• Knows and follows all company, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Programs.
• Assists in other departments as needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or similar discipline; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Minimum five years of work experience in Human Resources.
• Minimum three years of work experience with full-cycle recruiting; hospitality recruiting experience preferred.
• One year of work experience in the Hospitality Industry preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

• Knowledge of all applicable laws and regulations regarding the field of human resources.
• A valid driver’s license with a good driving record may be required.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel), email and Internet.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
• Excellent customer service skills; Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and complete assignments accurately in a timely manner.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively resolve employee problems and concerns.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:

• Climb stairs and walk on paved, unpaved, uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces.
• Kneel, stoop and squat occasionally.
• Reach down, forward and overhead frequently.
• Use general office equipment including a keyboard and computer, telephone, copier, fax, etc.
• Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Sit or stand for extended periods of time.
