Software Engineer (Python)

We have always used an external development company but in house Business Analysts, U A Testers, Project Managers and senior team members. We have reached a size where we feel creating an in-house tech (dev) team is the next right step for us and are looking for a team of 6 to join our CTO in delivering this vision. The Lettings Hub are a Prop-tech company who provide technology driven products and services to manage lettings. We work with a national network of letting agents and provide a range of services to help our clients with the move-in process. We are in growth mode and there are fantastic career opportunities for anyone joining the team as over the next year this team is set to expand 300%. We are in the top 5 in our sector.

About You

You’ll be an enthusiastic Python software engineer who shares our passion for robust, scalable code that helps drive the business forward. You will have experience working with modern Python, with a modern framework such as Django or Flask. Ideally, you’ll also have AWS experience and be familiar with Lambdas. Don’t worry, we’re not looking for experience in the prop-tech space, you’ll learn all about this as you go. You will be comfortable using Git to manage your code, and JIRA to manage your sprint.

What will you be doing?

· Joining the new in-house team which will be re-architecting our back-end systems to a modern and scalable AWS Lambdas solution

· Working with our external developers and DevOps to ensure 100% compatibility with the existing front-end system.

· Providing well documented, readable and structured code.

· Coding in Python 3.8+

· Using SQL (ideally MySql/MariaDB as that’s what we use)

· Being a positive and creative thinker, who is a part of finding solutions to any challenges being faced.

– Salary to £42,000 to £52,000 depending on experience and your role in the team
