The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous (JFR) is looking for a Senior Education Program Associate. The JFR provides monthly financial support to aged and needy Righteous Gentiles in twelve countries and offers a national Holocaust teacher education program.

The position is located in West Orange, New Jersey. This is not a remote work position. The successful candidate must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination. The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous adheres to and follows the guidelines of the State of New Jersey and the CDC in regard to social distancing and good public health measures.

The Senior Education Program Associate will:

• Manage the Foundation’s national Holocaust teacher education program and serve as a liaison to the education community.
• Organize and implement the Foundation’s professional development programs for middle and high school teachers and for Holocaust center education personnel.
• Author, design, produce, edit, and market the Foundation’s classroom materials and publications.
• Maintain relationships with the Foundation’s partner Holocaust centers and museums throughout the country and internationally.
• Assist in maintaining the JFR website and social media profile.
• Prepare the Foundation’s three monthly e-newsletters.
• Present educational workshops to groups of teachers and students which may include travel on Saturday and Sunday.
• Manage the JFR’s traveling exhibit, “Whoever Saves a Single Life: Rescuers of Jews During the Holocaust.”
• Interact with grant makers and donors on matters concerning the education program.
• Interact with the JFR Education Committee on matters concerning the education program.
• Oversee a grants program for partner Holocaust centers and affiliated educators.
• Manage the Foundation’s Bar/Bat Mitzvah program
• Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate should possess the following skills, knowledge, and abilities:

• Substantial knowledge of the history of the Holocaust acquired through coursework at the undergraduate or graduate level. Graduate level study is preferred.
• Social Studies or English teaching background including teaching the Holocaust in the classroom within the past two years.
• Experience in managing, administering, and implementing educational programs, with at least ten years of work experience past obtaining a BA or BS degree, with at least six years of classroom experience at the middle or high school level, preferably in a public school setting.
• Ability to design Holocaust educational programs at the middle and high school level. Must have curriculum design experience.
• Experience in supervising staff preferred.
• Ability to make presentations and represent the JFR to key educators, grant makers, and Foundation donors.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of national and international Holocaust resources.
• Must be organized and demonstrate ability to work both independently and also as a team member.

Salary will be based on experience.

Pay: $65,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
