The trade team at THE ICONIC play a vital role in transforming buying and planning priorities into a seamless and cohesive promotional strategy across our owned & paid marketing channels. By balancing a commercial and customer lens, they make data-driven decisions to ensure our promotional plans are executed to achieve business objectives.

As the Junior Data Analyst – Trade & Commercial Insights you will to the Head of Commercial Trade. You play an important role in driving sales and improving customer engagement through targeted marketing efforts. By analysing market trends and developing effective strategies, you ensure THE ICONIC stays competitive and achieves sales goals.

About The Role

• Providing accurate analysis and ing for our trade and promotional activities. Including but not limited to:
• Weekly sales performance ing and analysis of any unexpected variances and ing on finding
• Support in the drafting of weekly Exec Trade Review Memo
• Ad-hoc analysis and deep-dives – especially across channels and different promo tactics / mechanisms
• Write SQL queries and create visual s and dashboards
• Transform data and draw insights from large data sets
• Build automated BI s and dashboards with standardised approach
• Supporting weekly promotional planning and execution as well as tactical / reactive trade initiatives. Including.
• Roll up and monitoring of SKU and stock required for key promotions, updating the Head of Commercial Trade of any risks or concerns
• Creating campaigns in Bob and uploading SKUs
• Collecting the content and setting up Wrike briefs for Marketing
• Managing the execution of the offers / initiatives in order to ensure we deliver against our Trade goals
• Work with channel owners to secure / confirm appropriate support across promos / initiative.
• Identification of risks and opportunities, providing suggestions, solutions or actions
• Supporting project work such as Turbo 25 initiatives
• Monitoring and tracking of our competitors promotional activity
• Supporting Category Buyers and planners with any queries they may have on a brand, a customer or sales for example
• Contributes to team meetings, by challenging/highlighting risk and/ or opportunity
• Maintenance of existing Tools and s, development and input into design of new tools and s

About You…

• Able to consider commercial, customer and internal requirements and works to develop solutions that achieve a balance across all of these
• Has an analytical mindset:
• Comfortable working with large quantities of data
• Seeks out data to help answer questions
• Natural problem solving capabilities and an eagerness to develop these
• Excellent user of MS Excel and Google Sheets
• Intermediate-to-strong SQL skills (able to select and manipulate big customer datasets to get insights ).
• Have a minimum of 2 years commercial experience using SQL plus experience with at least one of the following technologies: Tableau/Power BI, and R/Python.
• Translates data into insights to support strategic decision making.
• Proactively takes ownership and responsibility of work and takes pride in doing a thorough job and making an impact
• Actively looks to improve processes and develop efficiencies where possible
• Communicates clearly and ensures communication style is reflective of the audience
• Talks to key points and can answer queries confidently
• Comfortable working under pressure and self-managing workload, quickly escalating to manager for support where necessary
• Has an understanding of the strategy, KPIs and OKRs for the Category Management department and demonstrates this in their actions and focus. Makes decisions with the department goals in mind
• Confidently able to develop a comprehensive knowledge of systems and processes
• Experience within retail industry is ideal.
